Took this self portrait in the glass reflection of an amazing xray image at Phillips du Pury & Company Gallery in NYC, March 2012. I spent two amazingly inspiring days wandering into galleries and museums all over Manhattan. Philips de Pury had the most exquisite collection of contemporary art, design, photographs and jewelry I have ever seen… browsing the photography department on the website offers amazing inspiration which includes so many of the greatest photographs and photographers of all time.

Mosaic & Photography Project
One of my first mosaic pieces; a self portrait project (2007) I had covered small boxes a few times before this so I knew I could go bigger. I decided to give it to my grandmother. It is on display at my family’s lake house in Michigan.

First place winner Self Expression Contest
Found this selfie I took when I was 17 using a self timer on a film camera. I used my morning routine to elaborate the pressures girls face to maintain a certain image in high school. My teacher submitted it to The Great Frame Up – Self Expression Contest / Exhibition. I won first place and 100$ from the Glen Ellyn Women’s Club. I’m sure that money went towards beauty products and clothes.

Last night we had a pretty wild storm roll through Chicago, and I was lucky enough to get out in it and capture some of its force. I took a ton of shots but here a couple of the ones that came out.

My Great Grandfather took this amazing photo of Babe Ruth about to take an outrigger canoe ride on Waikiki beach with the famous Surfer and Olympic swimmer Duke Kahanamoku, and his brothers between 1932-1939. My Great Grandfather was a Naval Officer stationed at Pearl Harbour when the US Navy took over the Royal Hawaiin Hotel in 1932.
